'Bines drop game 1

(Richibucto) - In game one of the ESHL semi-final between Richibucto and the Sackville Bud Light Combines ended in a 6-2 win for the Rum Runners. The lone goal of the first period came late as Geroy Augustine slid a one time pass from Etienne Robichaud for the 1-0 lead after one. The second period had Richibucto coming ahead as they found the back of the net 4 times as Owen Milliea, Jason Rinzler, Etienne Robichaud and Jesse Gymburner fired single markers for Ricibucto. Replying for the Combines was Nick laplante and Marshall MacDonald to head to the third down 5-2. Both teams traded several chances but it was the great saves of both goalies to keep the third scoreless until late in the third as Philippe Cormier picked up a single marker for Richibucto to end the game 6-2. Pierre Luc Therieau picked up the win in nets as Mike Charlton suffered the loss for the 'bines. The Combines look to regroup as they head back home for game two on Friday March 5 with a 8:30 game time at the Tantramar Civic Center.
