I can't download video clips!

Most of our featured video clips are no longer hosted on our website. Thanks to popular video sharing websites like YouTube, we are better able to share our videos while not hosting them on our web server. Videos supplied to us via YouTube are NOT downloadable via our website.

To download a video clip that is hosted on our website - Right click on the link and select "save as" or "save target as" (what it says will depend on your browser version) to save the video to your computer. Download times will depend on how fast your connection speed is. If you are on a dial-up connection, download times could be very slow, so please be patient. At times, traffic is very heavy on the Combines website, that may also affect download speeds.

I can't watch video clips!

Video clips on this site come from various sources (home video cameras, home digital cameras). Formats depend on where the video has has come from. I personally watch every video before putting it on the site, and have been able to watch the videos. I use both Windows XP and Vista, and have the latest versions of Windows Media Player. If you can not watch the videos, I recommend checking for updates on your media player. Also check for updates on your operating system and/or drivers on video/audio devices. Unfortunatly I am not tech support for any computer system. If the above suggestions do not work, I am very sorry, but there is nothing else I can do. Every computer is different and I can not figure out what your issue may be via email.

Where are old video clips and articles?

Old articles can be found by doing the following. 1) Start on the headline page. 2) Click "More>>" under the ESHL HEADLINES box. If you are looking for old video clips, the download links can be found in the old articles. However, to keep downloads and disk space as efficient as possible, I regularly remove old video clips from the server. Contact me if you are looking for an old clip, and I will do my best to help you out.

Why can't I download old video clips?

There are many factors which may prevent you from downloading a video clip. 1) If you are on a dial-up connection attempting to download a large file. My server connections are not always reliable and may cut out during prolonged downloads. 2) I may have removed the file from the server, consult the "Where are old video clips and articles?" link. 3) Your internet connection could be crappy, you could have viruses, or a whole pile of issues which are beyond my control. 4) Heavy traffic on the site often affects download capabilities, again, due to less than perfect server connections I have.

What is the ESHL?

The following is a brief blurb about the ESHL. It is intended to answer some of the basic information and frequently asked questions about the ESHL from visitors, and those who may be interested in playing or attending training camp.

General

The Eastern Senior Hockey League (ESHL) is currently a five team Senior "A" Mens hockey league. The league operates in southeastern New Brunswick with teams out of Bouctouche, Cap-Pele, Memramcook, Richibucto, and Sackville. Rogersville joined the leauge in the 2007-2008 season but is on a leave of abscence for the 2008-2009 season. The league plays a 24 game regular season schedule, with games scheduled on weekends. Playoffs are best-of-seven series, and occasionally require mid-week scheduling depending on ice time availability. Minimal travel is required, and is typically easily arranged for those who may not have access to vehicles. All games, both regular season and playoffs are three twenty minute period games with full intermissions. Senior Mens hockey is a full contact sport, and does include fighting as part of the game. Players are required to wear full equipment, this includes at least a 1/2 visor, but does not include a neck guard. The ESHL uses NBHOA officials to referee and man the lines of its games.

History

The ESHL and Sackville Combines have been in operation in one form or another for many many years. The most recent championship winning team was in the 1998-1999 season. The league has had many teams come and go including teams in St.Antoine, Shediac, and Moncton. If you can supply any information concerning the history of the Sackville Combines, or the ESHL, please contact us. We would love to know more about the history of the team and league.

In September 2008 the Memramcook Valley Hockey League (MVHL) officially changed its name to the Eastern Senior Hockey League (ESHL).

Presidents past and present. ??? to 2008 - Donald Bourque. 2008 to present Roger Brun.

Who can play

The league is open to players of all calibres. Like any competitive league, teams are picked from the best available players who attend each teams training camp. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions about training camp, or the ESHL.

Is there an official league website?

For many years there was no official website for the Eastern Senior Hockey League. As of the 2008-2009 season, the league is operating the website www.EasternSeniorHockey.com There are currently no other websites for teams in the league. We do our best to supply information (stats, standings, schedules, and stories) on behalf of all the teams in the league. The Cap-Pele Fisherman had a team website in the past, however it is no longer in operation.

Your information is wrong!

I try to share as much info from around the league as possible (scores, stats, schedule, standings, pics, video, stories). Anyone willing to share accurate reports, stories, pictures, video clips etc... please send it along to me. It's great to share the info from around the league with everyone. Occasionally I make a typo, or error when posting information. I'm human, let me know about my error, I will happily correct it.
