Combines play 2 games in Amherst | Share | (Sackville) - The Sackville Combines will be hosting two home games this weekend, but not at the usual Tantramar Civic Center. Friday's game vs Shediac (9:15pm) and Saturday's game vs Bouctouche (7:30pm) will both be played in the Amherst Stadium. With a large number of local Amherst players on the team, it will be a good chance for the local community to come out and watch the team. Sackville will be looking to rebound after a tough loss with a depleted bench by lead leading Richibucto Rum Runners last Saturday night 15-5. Posted - Feb-04-2010 9:47 AM

| Weather they Play? | Share | (Sackville) - ESHL weekend schedule features key matchups if Weather allows, as southern NewBrunswick is hit with weather advisor warnings and heavy snowfall for Friday. Notifiaction of any game cancellation will be posted on league or Sackville Combine website. (ESHL / LHSE) - The Eastern Senior A Hockey League will feature a key home and home series between the Bouctouche Maritime Doors & Windows and the Memramcook Air Repairs. The first of these two encounters will be played Friday night at 8:45 pm at the Bouctouche Forum while the second meeting will be Sunday at 8:30 pm in Memramcook. In other ESHL action on Friday, the Sackville Bud Lite Combines will be in Shediac to play the Capitals at 9:00 pm. Saturday in Cocagne, the Richibucto Rum Runners will be hosting Sackville at 9:00 pm. Richibucto presently sits alone in 1st place with 26 points just one point ahead of Bouctouche and 2 over Memramcook. In the ESHL scoring race, Michael LeBlanc of Bouctouche goes into weekend action with a 6 pts lead over Justin Johnson of Richibucto.

| Richibucto wins twice, takes over 1st place in ESHL | Share | (ESHL / LHSE) - The Richibucto Rum Runners have taken over sole possession of 1st place in the Eastern Senior A Hockey League with 2 victories over the weekend. On Friday, in Sackville, the Rum Runners defeated the Bud Lite Combines 7 to 3. Three players led the way with each a goal and 2 assists Justin Johnson, Scott Sack and Mark Rippley. Other markers came from Etienne Robichaud, Mark Fillmore, Jason Rinzler and Derek Maloney. Replying for Sackville were Nicolas Laplante, Marshal MacDonald and Matt Biron. Pierre-Luc Thériault got the win in nets while Mike Charlton suffered the loss. Saturday, in Cocagne, ESHL fans were treated to a great goaltenders duel with both goalies making key saves to keep their team in the game. The contest was finally decided when Rum Runners" Ryan Gillis scored at 2:54 of the overtime period to give Richibucto the 3 - 2 win. Scott Sack and Etienne Robichaud were the other Richibucto markers. Relying for the Bouctouche Maritime Doors & Windows were Alexandre Viagnault and Joel Malenfant. Winning goaltender was Pierre-Luc Thériault while Luc LeBlanc took the loss. Sunday, the ESHL had 2 games on tap with the 1st game in Sackville where the Memramccok Air Repairs came up with a 13 to 2 victory over the Bud Lite Combines. Leading the way for the Air Repairs was Jamie McCabe with 5 goals, Jean-Yves Cormier had the hat trick, Mathieu Melanson with 2 while single goals came from Lucas Martin, Stéphane Dion and Craig Martin. Marshall MacDonald and Jarrod Fraser replied for Sackville. Marc Gagnon was credited with the win in nets while Jim Curry had the loss. In the other game on Sunday in Bouctouche, the Maritime Doors & Windows defeated the visiting Shediac Capitals 9 to 2. Leading the way for Bouctouche was the ESHL scoring leader Michael LeBlanc with 5 goals and 1 assists, Alexandre Vignault with 1 goal and 3 assists, Ryan Salvis with 2 goals and a single from Jocelyn Dallaire. Rene Leger scored twice for the Capitals. Jean-Francois Mallet was the winning goaltender while Adrian Doiron was credited with the loss. Richibucto Rum Runners with their two wins now leads the ESHL by 1 point over Bouctouche and 2 pts over Memramccok. Michael LeBlanc of Bouctouche increased his lead in the ESHL scoring to 6 points over Richibucto Justin Johnson.
